Our Projects
Programs & Projects
Children’s Playground Project: Along with many other partners, we are going to build a playground like no other!
Staples School Bus Supply Collection Project: In cooperation with Staples Canada, we have 30 school bus shaped collection bins gathering over $250,000 worth of school supplies for kids in need. For 2003 Staples has agreed to go Canada wide with almost 250 stores in the program. This is a true success story of what a dedicated group can do if they are resolved to help. Terry Fox Run: Volunteers are required to help man the Registration Table, to set-up barricades and traffic cones and to supervise the participants as they run, bike, skate, wheel or walk the route.
sKreamers Haunted Hamlet: Not for the faint at heart, the Kiwanis Haunted Hamlet is guaranteed to give guests of all ages a healthy adrenaline shot. Walk quickly through the graveyard before the ghouls get you. Enjoy some playtime at the Creepy Carnival and win your soul back. Have your fortune told before you peruse the Dead Pet Shop and then it’s onto the Torture Chamber by the Awful Apartment where you never know what’s cooking!?! If your not unglued by now, the maze will take care of any sanity you have left. Finally you must deal with the Demon King in his castle before we wish you a Happy Halloween and send you on your way. For further details, why not stop in for dinner? We’ll be waiting for you! 2001 PICS 2003 PICS
World Trivia Night: Over 2,000 participants gather at the Ottawa Civic Center’s Aberdeen Pavilion for a night of wild and wacky : trivia. With tons of prizes, draws and contests, this night is a fun way to raise over $80,000 in aid of the Champions for Children Foundation in conjunction with the Ottawa-Carleton Children’s Aid Society.
Christmas Assistance: We help the Cumberland Resource Center purchase, pack and deliver over 100 food “baskets†for those in need at this special time of the year. We also assist the Orleans Salvation Army with their Christmas Kettles and Gift Wrapping programs.
Gloucester Fair: With our support, the Gloucester Fair is able to treat over 800 physically and mentally challenged children to they’re own private day at the fair. Complete with midway rides, agricultural exhibits and fair food, these kids have an opportunity to enjoy what most able bodied children take for granted.
